I like pork rinds. They're good, I'm not sure if I get that from mom or Grandpa Pagan. I have memories of him in Puerto Rico, buying them from a street vendor and eating them. Some of them even still had hairs on them - blech. I'm not that hardcore. But, the other day I was working in the lab and my Filipino friend Jerry stuck a bag in my lab coat. My other friend Jem, also of the Filipino persuasion was very excited to see my snicky snack. These rinds were garlic, salt and vinegar flavored, they were strong and salty, but they were crunchy and kind of addictive...............
...................and then, I read the bag, and no matter HOW much I love them, when I see this:
"pork rinds with fat AND skin"..............., it kinda ruins my fine, rind, dining experience.
How bout you? Do you like pork rinds?
nope-can't stand the hair thing either-but I know LOTS of family members will beg to differ-haha!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the family members who differ--and that goes back to before my Puerto Rican days. It used to be such a treat when we would butcher a pig on the farm in Oregon. Yum! I don't remember there being hair, though. I think they scraped it really well.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pork rinds. but they have to be crunchy. No I don't like the hair thing though.
