Tornadic Activity

We had some tornadic activity last week, which was exciting.  Although it didn't get too close, thank goodness, they still set off the siren.  I'm positive if mom wouldn't have been out at Greg's keeping him distracted, he would've been calling me telling me right were the tornado was. I, of course ran to the window, while the news talked about the direction it was headed.  At the EXACT same second, I said, "I'm going outside for a look", the news anchor said, "Do NOT go outside and try to spot the tornado, take shelter immediately".

Seriously, one of these times I'm gonna be sorry, and get swept away by an F5, and it will completely be my fault, mom, so don't feel bad, but I was making lasagna, darn it, so I went outside.  Mark followed me out saying, "wasn't this about the same time last year that your aunts were here visiting?" Hmm, I think it was.  Honestly, there was really nothing around us, so I'm pretty sure it was safe, but hey, I don't know, I'm no meteorologist, (and don't they study meteors anyway, what do they know about tornado's?) but had I seen a funnel cloud full of spinning Herford's coming my way I would've been screwed.

  1. Hey I was having my own excitement at Greg's watching one from his front window. We went outside to see which way it was headed just like you.. Actually I think it was headed toward us but disappated before it got to us. Very exciting. that is as close as I want to be to one.

  2. For some reason, I haven't been able to publish a comment on several of your posts. Very frustrating, since my goal in life (at least on the computer) is to beat Lindi. Some of my comments have been BRILLIANT, too! Hilarious, poignant, thoughtful...

I have been thinking of our tornado excitement--how can you NOT look? We had so much fun with you guys!! Aunt Joyce

  3. Joyce,
I've been having the same problems on other people's blogs. It has the nerve to call me anonymous and won't let me post, even when it's giveaways that I really, really, want to win, like feather inspired flapper headbands for Lia. Darn Blogspot, anyway. I guess I'll just have to look forward to OTHER brilliant posts from you, hilarious, poignant, and thoughtful, that made me giggle.
